Arts College , Savlaj was established in June 1991 to cater the need of rural students. Shri. R.R. Patil (former Deputy chief minister and Home Minister Govt. of Maharashtra ) has a lions share in the growth and development of this college. The college is affiliate to Shivaji University , Kolhapur.

- To impart higher education with multi faceted aspects, excelling the human resources in broader perspectives of national and global context.

- To provide higher educational opportunities, especially to the lower classes, education to their doors.
